Prospect Cottage- Dungeness
A garden cultivated in the gravel by Derek Jarman, a director and artist, who spent his last years there after being diagnosed with HIV Aids. Beautifully windswept, it has a real sense of isolation, but in reality there are plenty of neighbours. Nonetheless its a relaxing experience and like us, most people pull up on the side of the road and wander round for a while, sit take it in and are back on their way. The pub up the road also does a good lunch menu and the beach is right there.
